You are being given an invitation to scrapbook in the Ozarks!! That's right!!! It's a Scrapbooks and More Retreat. We've been talking alot about it around the store and now we can officially share the details. On February 9-12, 2012 we will be going to Budd Creek Baptist Camp in Greers Ferry, Arkansas for a Scrapbooking retreat. It's an opportunity that you will not want to miss.

You will be provided 2- 8 foot tables for your own personal scrapbooking space, lodging for three nights, and seven meals... Yes, you read that right! THAT'S 16 FEET OF PERSONAL TABLE SPACE! LODGING FOR THREE NIGHTS (IF YOU CHOOSE TO SLEEP) AND SEVEN WONDERFUL MEALS!!!! A Free Beverage bar will be available 24 hours a day.

Now, if you are wondering what this will cost you...it's only going to cost $100. Ladies, it does not get any better than this. This encampment is very private and has nice warm accommodations.

We've all probably been to retreats where lodging and meal were not included and it still cost us more than this...

We hope that you are able to join us and bring along a few friends. Is this not exciting? We think so.

Registration is now open. Deadline to register is February 1. You MUST have your spot paid for by February 6th.

Let me take this time to say, "Merry Christmas to All". I hope that each and everyone of you celebrate the true meaning of the season, Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior. As you go about your normal holiday rituals, stop and take time to thank God for each and every blessing that you have. It's so easy to get caught up in the commercialism of the holidays and forget that God gave his greatest gift to each one of us. What more could we ask for?

Also, let me ask that you look around and bless some one less fortunate than you are. This is a free gift that you can give someone. It won't cost you a single dime... Maybe just a "Merry Christmas" said out loud to the cashier as she checks you out, Maybe it's a smile to that mother with several kids in tow behind her as she wonders what she'll cook them for supper, OR just maybe it's as simple as asking "How are you?" and REALLY wanting to know the answer. Even if some one has a smile on their face they could still be hurting deep inside. You never know how you can be a blessing to someone.

Well it's that time again!! Time for us once again to come together and complete our Christmas Albums. For those of you who have never had the oppportunity to join us before let me explain what will be going on. We will have 2 1/2 days of nothing but Christmas layouts. If you are able to join us when you leave the store on Saturday you will have had the opportunity to finish a complete Christmas Album and after Christmas all you will have to do is add your photos. Now what could be more fun and relaxing that this!!!

Registration is required to participate in classes and the Crops. Check your schedules and call us AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to get signed up! 2011 is going to be a NEW YEAR with our Kit Club!!! We are currently offering 4 kits per month, but in the coming year, we are streamlining and the Kit Club will be 2 kits per month for a cost of $25 plus tax. The kits will be seasonal and will include the following (these are themes, not specific titles). January - New Years and Winter February - Snow and Valentines March - Spring Break and Spring April - Easter and Easter May - School's Out and Mother's DayThe Kit Club was intended to help you stay current with your scrapbooking. It is NOT INTENDED to make you feel overwhelmed because you have let them pile up in the corner! :-( No, No, No. But even if you have, 2011 lends hope to you. Just jump in and at least you will have the big days and holidays scrapbooked! We feel this restructure will no only help you keep current on all the major events of the year, but also free up some money to get more kits that are offered during the year. There are only 4 more weeks in the family build a book series. I had told you 12 weeks, but I can't seem to count, so it was really a 10 week project.

I also want to tell you that the next Build a Book series (after this one is complete) will be a girl book. These layouts will be generic girl pages with a pink and brown color scheme. They may be used as one book or mix them into your existing scrapbooks. I do need to know as soon as possible if you would like to sign up for this next series so that I may plan my paper. Please call or email to get your name on the list. I will give you more details later, but I just need to know how many to plan for. A boy theme will be after the girl series is complete!

Hope you have had a great week; and hope you had time to carve out a little time for yourselves to scrapbook.

We have lots to tell you about. First, if you have not signed up for the Friday night crop, that is next Friday, September 11, from 5:00-12:00. This is a pot luck crop, so there is no charge to attend, just bring a pot luck dish. You may bring anything you would like. We had such a good time the last time we did this; so don't miss out on the fun. Please call us if you would like to attend, we have a few more spots available.

We are having a Beginner Scrapbooking Class on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00-12:00. If you know of someone who is wanting to learn about this great hobby of ours, please have them call the store and get signed up really soon. The cost is $30 and that includes 2 double page layouts plus their adhesive; and 3 hours of instruction to get them going on a lifetime of a great hobby.

We have a lot of new merchandise in the store. We have new school and birthday papers and stickers with layouts ready to copy. We have stickers and papers in the following themes: Hunting, Twins, Baptism, Conformation, travel, football, performance, and competition. We have several embellishment stickers for school, art, playground, bathtime, soccer, baseball, and basketball. We also have several new papers just in the miscellanous pattern papers. New papers in the theme sections include: hunting, pheasant, hunting labs, shotgun shells, hay, deer antlers, tye-dye with peace signs, zoo, destinations including Cayman Island, Jamaica, New Orleans, Cancun, and Branson; baseball, baby food jars, bathtime, Marines, and fireman. We are receiving new merchandise daily and will be putting out a little at a time, so come often and check out what's new!

I just wanted to let you know that Jean's sister, Joyce Jones, passed away unexpectedly Saturday night. I know that Jean and Judith would appreciate your remembering them in your prayers during the coming days.

Visitation will be at Pegues Funeral Home tonight, Monday, August 10, from 4-6 pm and the funeral will follow at 6 pm, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Regional Rehabilitation Center, 615 Pegram Drive, Tupelo, MS 38801, or Touched by an Angel Ministries, P. O. Box 2611, Tupelo, MS 38803.

Also, if you wish to send Jean a card, her home address is 2018 Fillmore Drive, Tupelo, MS 38801, and the store address is located below. Many of you know Jean's sister, Judith Long as well, and her address is 2305 Lynette Circle, Tupelo, MS 38801.

In honor and memory of Joyce, Scrapbooks & More will close on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
